friends change, families change, careers change, health is during these times that we have the choice to live lives that are full because we keep our eyes transfixed on our Provider, or we can have lives that are 'graves of craving' where we complain because we are looking behind us at what we once had or what someone else has. Complaining and unrealistic longing show my lack of belief and faith in Him whose power is limitless. As a result I miss out on enjoying the fullest life possible. I miss God's daily miracles.which are sometimes just like 'manna'-just enough to keep me completely dependent upon Him. Faith and trust can be displayed in how I bring my needs before Christ. I often am distracted and consumed by what I want. How many of my days can be 'graves of craving' rather than days looking to the One who is invisible who satisfies and quenches every longing. So the place was called Kibroth-Hattaavan-'the graves of craving'-because they buried the people there who had craved meat from Egypt.' Our true loyalties are revealed in the absence of what our hearts desire. The thing which we want should lead us to Christ our Provider, yet many times the thing which we desire turns our attention away from Christ and reveals the sad state of our hearts. How often do we feel that God is keeping things from us when in reality He is giving us what is best.Himself. Just as He told Moses, 'Is there any limit to my power?' He simply wanted their trust, He wanted their loyalty, He wanted to be their desire (not the things of Egypt), He wanted to be first in their lives. Yet it was not that God wanted to keep good things from the is not that He did not want them to have the 'meat' for He could surely supply it. He has never failed me on this journey of life. Like the Israelites, my eyes are often fixed on what I want instead of the sufficiency I have in Christ and who He is to me. How easy it is to take for granted the 'manna' which is daily before me and complain becasue I do not have what I once did when I am exactly where God wants me to be. How easy it is to see the past as perfect and to overlook God's obvious hand of current intervention and provision on my behalf. How often in my own life do I long for the things from a time and place that God has moved me on from.

They were blinded to the fact that the manna that fell with the dew at night was a miraculous act of God's provision. They forgot who their provider was and could only focus on what they lacked. They forgot how God had brought them out with miracle upon miracle to where they now stood. They forgot the years of spiritual bondage, the years of slavery, the years of severe oppression that Pharoah had ordered. Yet, they forgot what life really was like for them in that far away land. They wept in front of their tents for these things. They longed for the meat of Egypt, they yearned for the cucumbers, the melons, the onions, the garlic and all the foods they once enjoyed in that land (can you blame them).
